With the 2024 presidential election only six months away, a new Pew Research Center study shows growing support for former President Trump over President Biden among Christians, particularly among Hispanic Catholics.

The Hispanic Catholics comprise a significant voting bloc (40% of the U.S. Catholic population) that is shifting away from Biden. In 2020, 67% of Hispanic Catholic voters preferred Biden. Now only 40% of Hispanic Catholics plan to vote for Biden – a massive decline in popularity among these voters.

What’s caused this steep decline? Don’t forget that President Biden, a Catholic, was somewhat of a moderate – even a pro-life Democrat – for most of his political career. Yet over the last four years, Biden has taken radically pro-abortion stances to satisfy the far-Left base. Thus, the declining support in the Hispanic Catholics poll is very troubling for President Biden.

What about other Christian voters in America? President Trump has 84% support among evangelicals who attend church regularly. Among Protestant voters who attend church occasionally, 60% say they back Trump, and 38% favor Biden.

Of course, “Protestant” is a very wide net to cast in America. Check out the Pew Research data to see a detailed breakdown of different religious affiliations.

We are also interested in the Christian vote because of our legal work fighting back against the Biden Administration’s intentional targeting of “radical traditionalist” Christians. We filed a FOIA lawsuit against the Biden Administration and uncovered 1,200 pages of documents related to the Deep State’s targeting of Christians.

If you remember, the FBI planted spies inside churches to keep tabs on what was being taught from the pulpit. FBI Director Christopher Wray denied that widespread targeting occurred, but evidence showed otherwise. And don’t forget that the FBI was combing through bank records to track Bible purchases. Will Christians remember this unconstitutional targeting of people of faith when voting in November?

Israel also remains under attack, and we are defending our ally on the world stage. We sent legal demand letters to key officials in the Legislative and Executive branches and 43 countries insisting that they support Israel and enact sanctions on Iran.

Former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo reacted to the news that Biden won’t enact sanctions against Iranian oil:

Since the first day that they came into office, they’ve undone all of the pressure campaign that we had on the Iranians. . . . [The Trump Administration] had put enormous financial pressure on them. . . . [Now] they’re selling more than a million and a half barrels of oil per day, creating growth for the Iranian economy that exceeded the growth of the American economy in 2023 and probably will again this year. . . . We had them down to actually as little as about 350,000 barrels a day, . . . and we kept the price of crude oil . . . lower than it was when we began our pressure campaign. So it is possible to protect the American economy and protect American national security. And the Biden Administration has just chosen to play footsie with the Iranians, and you can see the result of that.

Iran was in major economic trouble before Biden took over. We just submitted a new FOIA request investigating the billions of dollars that the Biden Administration has funneled to Iran.

We also have a new religious liberty case. A hospital banned an employee from holding a Bible study during her break time – a clear violation of her religious liberty rights under federal law.

We sent a legal demand letter informing the hospital of the employee’s constitutional rights being violated. We explained that Title VII clearly establishes that it is illegal for an employer to discriminate against employees based on their religion. The broad jurisdiction of Title VII ensures that most employers, public or private, are covered by Title VII.

The ACLJ will take legal action if the hospital does not comply with the law. We will keep you updated on further developments.
