ACLJ : National Security

Drug killings — violence — people crossing into America illegally — it’s a huge and dangerous situation. In an effort to protect its borders, Arizona has passed a TOUGH BUT FAIR new immigration law — first the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) filed suit, and now the U.S. Department of Justice, plans to file a federal lawsuit. We have to stand up against any attack on this. Otherwise, every state in the Union will be at risk. The American Center for Law and Justice will file an amicus brief challenging their position. We say, YOU HAVE THE RIGHT to protect yourself — secure your borders — something federal government has repeatedly failed to do.

ACLJ's Position

The American Center for Law and Justice is committed to protecting our constitution and our way of life. Since the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, the ACLJ has focused on National Security issues and waging an effective and constitutional war on terrorism.

We are grateful for the work of the President and the Department of Justice in this area. It is clear that newly implemented initiatives -- including the USA Patriot Act -- are working to protect America from future attacks.

National Security and waging the war on terrorism are two of the most important issues facing America today. The ACLJ, which has supported the government's efforts to protect our homeland, will continue to engage these issues in the courts and in the court of public opinion.
