Protect Free Speech for Christians

Today, I call on every concerned member of the ACLJ to stand up and be counted. We must send a strong, united message to the House of Representatives. WE WILL NOT BE SILENCED! Dangerous legislation, H.R. 2093, is currently looming over Congress. This bill, wrapped in the cloak of lobbying reform, is nothing more than a blatant attempt to squelch the free speech of churches and Christian organizations. But the ACLJ is on the counter-offensive. We will not rest until this critical bill is crushed. We will not allow any attempt to re-define the laws of our land and usurp the authority of our constitutional freedoms. Please read the form below carefully and declare your membership with the ACLJ by adding your name to our Petition of Protest.

H.R. 2093, the bill which could re-define lobbying, is dangerous. It would have a chilling effect on the free speech of churches and Christian organizations. It contradicts the constitutional principle of free speech and the First Amendment right to petition the government. We urge you to use your full influence to keep out of this legislation any language which would implicate churches and religious organizations from being classified as "grassroots lobbying" organizations. It's vital that you help preserve constitutional free speech for all.
